The Time is Now

Hello, I’m Susie Binganisi. I’m a sophomore at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro majoring in pre-health, in hopes of becoming a Physician Assistant. susie

Before I knew it, I was a freshman in high school. You’ll be amazed, just how fast high school goes by. I wouldn’t have made it this far without my family, but also without the help of my mentors. Many people make the mistake of believing that only troubled teens have mentors, but in reality it’s not true. These mentors were there to prepare me for the future. They would constantly check on my progress, and made sure I was on the right path. Although we may be different, we do have a few things in common. One of the things we have in common is that we all have Congolese parents. The mentorship programs aims to provide the tools needed to better the education of Congolese children.

At times we settle for less because we’re clueless…

I was delighted to hear of FLOCA. As a mentee, you’ll learn valuable skills during the mentorship program. Not only will you have guidance, but you’ll be provided with tools and information that will lead to multiple opportunities to further your education. At times we settle for less because we’re clueless about how to move forward or what proper steps to take. With the mentorship program you’ll have the support needed to help you make your journey. We are the youth and we are the future. If we don’t prepare ourselves now, then when will we? There’s a time for everything, and that time is now. So please, give a round of applause of Future Leaders of Congo.
