Priscilla is a native of Raleigh, NC. She is a graduate of Wake NC State University STEM Early College High School. She will be attending the University of North Carolina at Greensboro where she wishes to major in Pediatric Nurse.

While in high school, she was involved in numerous activities including the NCSU Junior Wise Club, and the NC-MSEN Pre-College Program. Priscilla also served as a volunteer in several organizations, such as Sunrise Assisted Living and the Southeast Raleigh Regional Library. Some of her awards include the A-B Honor Roll Certificate, Kappa Alpha Psi Scholar Medal, and Certificate of Achievement for Outstanding Performance in Wake County Schools.

“Given the opportunity to be raised in such a thriving country like the United States, it is of no argument that I understand my duty to take advantage of all of the resources accessible to me,” she said.

Gloria Gonde is also from Raleigh, NC. She is a graduate of Millbrook High School. She will be a student at Winston-Salem State University in the fall where she wants to study Exercise Science. While in high school, Gloria participated in Junior R.O.T.C and track and field.  She made the regionals and qualified in females’ shot put during her junior year. She is also a volunteer at her church. She is described as “a respectful and quiet young lady who is always willing to help.”

Gloria believes being an American is a “great opportunity” because it is possible to achieve anything even if ones “financial situation is not ideal.” When speaking of her parents, she states, “They use their own personal experiences to teach me and guide me. My father wants me to view the world as a place where if I do the required work, I will succeed.”
